Keys to the Future
Youth aging out of foster care need safety, stability, and support as they prepare for independence. Keys to the Future is CAP’s capital campaign to create interim housing and independent living support for youth aging out of foster care, helping them build practical life skills and prepare for greater independence.
One shared location for the work ahead.
Keys to the Future is helping build a shared anchorpoint for CAP’s work. This project is still in development and not yet accepting applications or referrals.
The Groundwork Is Underway
CAP has secured land for the project and is continuing to raise the funds needed for planning, development, and construction. Community support has already helped move Keys to the Future from an idea toward a physical place where this next chapter of the work can begin.

Unlocking Independence
A gift to Keys to the Future helps move CAP’s Housing Initiative forward, creating future interim housing and independent living support for youth aging out of foster care. Individuals, businesses, foundations, and community partners can all play a part in bringing this vision to life and helping young adults build greater stability and independence as they move into adulthood.
The Risk of Homelessness
Research shows that nearly 1 in 5 youth aging out of foster care will experience homelessness shortly after leaving the system, highlighting how critical stable housing truly is.
Give to Keys to the Future
Every year, approximately 20,000 youth age out of foster care in the United States. Many face homelessness, financial instability, and a lack of support as they enter adulthood. Keys to the Future exists to help change that.
