Become an Advocate
Advocates are appointed by a judge to advocate for the best interests of a child in foster care. They get to know the child and their case, then share observations and recommendations with the court.
This role is best for someone who can make a long-term commitment, work within the court and child welfare systems, and stay focused on the child throughout the case.
Advocates must be 21 or older, complete background checks and training, and meet program commitment requirements.
Become a Mentor
Mentors build supportive one-to-one relationships with youth in Cecil County, ages 5-21.
Mentors are caring adults, ages 21 and older, who are ready to provide consistent guidance and encouragement to a youth.
Mentors complete background checks and training and commit to the mentoring relationship for at least one year.
Become an Ambassador
Not every volunteer role involves working directly with a child or youth. CAP also relies on board members, community partners, and volunteers who contribute their time, experience, and skills in other ways.
